OC Varsity ranked football coach Rob Frith as No. 4 in the county. This was Frith’s first year as the coach after serving as an assistant coach in previous years. Frith broke the team’s losing streak by placing second in league, and finishing with a 7-3 record, five more wins than last year.

The team also made it to the second round of CIF.

Frith said he was very flattered but “it’s all about the team and the players.”

Principal Dr. Allan Mucerino said he is proud to have Frith as El Toro’s football coach and that his attitude is “most spirited.”

Dan Bode, assistant principal of athletes and facilities, said that Frith is “very football savvy” and “our golden nugget surrounded in jewels.”
